Process® technology
The Subcoal® process is a state-of-the-art, comprehensive process technology to convert cellulose/plastic fractions into high-quality alternative fuels. The Subcoal® technology concerns four key sections:
A) Pre-treatment section
This section is designed to prepare the cellulose/plastic fraction and remove large inert particles (e.g. stone, glass) and other materials like (non) ferrous particles.
B) Drying section
This sections is designed to decrease the moisture content of the cellulose/plastic fractions to match the requirements of the Subcoal® end-user. Typically, the moisture content is reduced to below 10% on weight basis.
C) Purification section
This section is designed to further purify the material stream to match the requirements of the Subcoal® end-user with respect to chlorine and ash content.1
D) Post-treatment section
This section is the final step used for transformation of the cellulose/plastic material into the required form for further processing at Subcoal® end-users. Generally, three forms can be distinguished;
a) Subcoal® fluff
b) Subcoal® pellets (soft, medium and hard pellets)
c) Subcoal® powder (fine powder composition)
